Dreamwise
“No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid.”
Dream S.M.A.R.T
We all have dreams and aspirations, but most of these are never realized due to a variety of reasons. It may be lack of resources, lack of guidance, lack of self-belief or just the challenges of life in general. We feel that everyone is entitled to achieve their dreams no matter how big or small they are.
DreamS.M.A.R.T was born out of this notion and is an initiative which aims to assist individuals to reach their dreams through an inclusionary, step by step process.
Objectives:
- Encourage individuals to identify their dreams and assisting them in drafting and executing a plan for attaining their dreams
- Provide a sense of purpose and meaning throughout the process
Basic Framework
- Initial meeting with management and supervisors to explain the initiative and define the scope. This provides management to field questions and provide an insight into the business operations
- 2. Meet and explain the program and field questions to the participating employees.
- 3. The participants will be provided with a short “Dream Survey” in order to record their dreams
- 4. Surveys will be assessed and categorized according to the nature of aspirations.
- 5. Participants will then meet with the “S.M.A.R.T Dreamer” to discuss the surveys and
- o Prioritise dreams
- o Develop of a “Dream Roadmap” to achieve those dream
- o Hosting periodic meetings to assess progress until the dream in question has been realised.
Fundraising
One of the pillars of our initiative is to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Trust.
“The Children’s Hospital Trust is an independent non-profit organization established in 1994 to raise funds to support specific projects and programmes to help advance child healthcare through the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital – the first stand-alone tertiary hospital, exclusively for children, in sub-Saharan Africa. The Trust raises funds for the upgrade and expansion of the Hospital’s buildings, the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, new medical treatment programmes and funds the training of medical professionals across Africa – ensuring that the Hospital not only retains its world-class stature, but is able to continue providing life-changing and life-saving care for children.”
We raise funds through various avenues. Donations are made through events such as the “Portuguese Evening” held annually by Round Table… and participation by “Team Just Breathe” in events such as the Wild Coast Challenge.
We are constantly seeking new avenues and ideas to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Trust and appreciate any and all support.
